For a good view stop in front of the statue of
Venus, directly below the house of Major Johnston.
The central part of the building was the original farmhouse. To
make it more comfortable he designed and added the two large pavilions
which surround it. This house is deliberately open to the garden,
which is in turn only the extension of the house.
The forest behind the house is part of the property which will
be opened to the public at a later date.
